About Aja Tahari Marsh

As a personal chef and caterer, Aja Tahari Marsh's food is inventive and vibrant, yet always approachable. She has specific passions in cooking local and seasonal foods, cooking for those with specialized or restrictive diets, and food education.  

Aja studied at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts in New York City, and has since worked as a line cook, at various catering companies, and in 2009, founded the pop-up venture Sandwich Friend at the Greenpoint Food Market and various other venues in Brooklyn.

Born and raised in Texas, Aja completed her undergraduate studies in Visual Arts at the University of Florida, getting her start as a cook at a local catering company before moving to the northeast. Beyond her work in natural foods and things kitchen-related, she is the founder of a North Brooklyn Runners, a community running club, is the co-producer of Work It Brooklyn, an event-based networking group in Brooklyn, and is active in various local food and agriculture organizations. 

Aja's recipes have been featured on SecondAct.com,Oriel Wines, Girlie Girl Army, and Bravo! Wellness and was interviewed by the Austinist.
